CHAPTER I

1.1  Problem background in our country English is the first foreign language that is taught as a compulsory subject that should be learnt by all students from elementary school until university, there four skills in English, they are listening, speaking, reading and writing, the statement, clearly shows that the purpose of teaching English is to enable the students to master the four skills students who are taught with a straying are more highly motivated than those who re not and can be lead to a more effective learning.

1.2  Problem Identification
The researcher chooses this topic because she wants to prove that the use of pictures an increase the student’s ability in writing narrative paragraph because the students will not only be interested in writing narrative paragraph using pictures but also they can develop their imagination using picture.
